Earwigs

Earwigs

The old superstition that earwigs enter the ear of sleeping people is not true. However, they are considered a pest when they move indoors. When crushed they emit a foul odor. Outdoors, earwigs feed on plants and may cause significant damage. They also feed on insects that they capture with their pincers. Earwigs are most active at night and spend most of their time hidden away during the day. They are attracted to lights.
